About

Photograph by Greta Rybus

I’m a writer, editor, and poet based in Portland, Maine.

I believe that words, assembled and tuned with care, can be transportive, and I approach my writing and editing work with precision, attention to detail, and, I hope, a kind of tenderness.

I specialize in writing about spaces, architecture, and design as well as top-editing, copy-editing, packaging, headline and coverline writing, and creative direction. My writing and editing work can be seen in Remodelista, The Wall Street Journal, Travel + Leisure, Food & Wine, Clever by Architectural Digest, Food52, Domino, and Decor Maine, among others. I'm currently Editor in Chief at Remodelista, and I authored the book Remodelista in Maine: A Design Lover’s Guide to Inspired, Down-to-Earth Living (Artisan Books, May 2022).

I graduated from New York University with a degree in Media, Culture, and Communication and a minor in Creative Writing and lived in New York City for 10 years before moving (back) to Maine, where I live with my partner and our sleepy but opinionated rescue pup named Slim Pickins.
