Detail Oriented is a monthly snail-mail delivery focused on noticing tiny glimpses of beauty, tenderness, joy, in the everyday.

I’m always taken by small things: a slip of seaweed on the beach, a wild glimmer of light on the wall of my kitchen, an excellent rock. I try to make a practice of noticing. Noticing is an antidote to a world that moves fast, to scrolling, to bombardment. It’s a tether that makes me slow down and be present, a little thing to carry in my pocket as I move through my day, and often a spark that starts something else (a poem, but also a photograph, a painting, an image).

Detail Oriented is an invitation to notice and see where it leads, a monthly creative practice you can use however you wish.

What’s Inside?

Each month, I send out a new Detail Oriented with a new theme. Inside are glimpses from my notebook/camera roll/other little details and a prompt for noticing the small things in your own daily life. Every month is different. Think of it like an advent calendar that goes all year, delivered in a delicious little package to unwrap.

Detail Oriented is $8/month. Someday I’ll figure out how to make this a subscription you can sign up for to get each month, but not today. For now, come back here to get on the list.

Detail Oriented is sent via snail mail, so there’s no shipping fee, but there’s also no tracking. If you don’t receive yours by April 25, send me a note and let me know and I’ll happily postmark a new one.
